Both Older Mum and Mother Goutte have tagged me in a meme – My thanks to them both!  I shall duly oblige but combine the two….I like to mix it up a bit!

From Mother Goutte I got the Reader Appreciation Award!  Yay me!  Mother Goutte has been a lovely supporter of my Wednesday Witter linky and I am very glad as it introduced me to her fabulous blog!

I have to answer some questions and then pick a few other victims bloggers to partake!

So, the questions:

Favourite colour

Purple.  All shades of.  The colour of royalty and always the colour that catches my eye….

Favourite animal

The horse.  Always wanted one – I used to stare at my bedroom walls as a child; not out of desperation but because they depicted show jumping scenes.  I always hoped that on Christmas morning there would be a pony outside the front door with a big ribbon around its neck.  Not likely in a small suburban semi, but one can dream….

I think they are magnificent.  Beautiful, beautiful creatures.  The theme from Black Beauty still makes me cry.

Favourite non-alcoholic drink

Tea.  Lots of.  Half a sugar, milk.  Twinings.

Facebook or Twitter

Twitter.  A year ago, I wasn’t even on Twitter.  Now, it is my social life.  I know, that makes me sound like a right saddo, but if you’re reading this then you are likely to be a blogger and probably understand.  If you’re not, then yes, I am a right saddo.

Giving or getting presents

Always giving.  I start Christmas shopping in the summer sales or before.  I LOVE finding the right present for the right person.  May I just say, that notonthehighstreet.com is my ultimate present-giving place.

Favourite day of the week

Friday.  This is because somewhere in my living-in-the-past mind I am 20 years old, at uni and Friday night is Union night and three too many southern comforts.

Favourite flower

I fluctuate…I think so long as it is white then it’s a winner.  But I love wild flowers, meadow flowers – the ones classed as weeds but are just as beautiful as the evil plantage from Satan’s lair that are known as roses.

Passion

Writing poetry.  I have leaked a few onto this blog, but I have written poems since I was a child.  Usually when I was sad.  It’s not something you readily admit to, but I compose them in my head throughout the day.  Sometimes I get to a pad and pencil to write them down, otherwise they get lost.  Probably not a bad thing….  Failing that it is blogging, cooking and Ben Fogle.

And finally this is how it works :

1. Include the award logo somewhere in your blog. (done)
2. Answer the 10 questions below for fun, if you want to. (done)
3. Nominate 10 to 12 blogs that you enjoy, or you pick the number. (er, NOT that many!)
4. Pay the love forward: Provide your nominees with a link to your post and comment on their blog to let them know they’ve been included and invited to participate. (on the ‘to do’ list)
5. Pay the love back with gratitude and a link to the blogger(s) who nominated you. (done)

Now, the gorgeous Older Mum in a Muddle has given me a beautiful blogger award which is too kind of her!  But warmly appreciated all the same!

The award stipulates that I nominate six other lovely bloggers and then share ten factual thingamys about myself.

Six nominees might be pushing it. but here are ten facts about me.  Stay awake.

I was born a Maid of Kent, but now I am a Kentish Maid.

Up until the age of 8 I couldn’t put my hands in my pockets.  OCD.  Too many nibbly bits on the bottom. I still can’t rummage through my handbag without getting itchy.

I was sweet sixteen and never been kissed.  (Might have made up for that….)

I passed my driving test on my sixth go.  BFF was on her fifth.  We both still have nightmares about having to re-take….

I have a certificate in stage-fighting.  It has enhanced my CV no end….

I believe in love at first sight.

I nearly died once and almost killed a dear friend.  I hit gravel on the central reservation of the M25, skidded across three lanes and rolled into a field.  Please, wear your seat belts.  They saved our lives.

I can play The Sound of Silence on the piano whilst standing on my head. (n.b. NOT tested for a few years….)

I studied Theology then went to Drama School.  I was made for The Sound of Music. Which I auditioned for when I was 8 to play opposite Petula Clark.  I got through to Round 2 then forgot to sing.  Bummer.

I still believe that somewhere, there might be Father Christmas and unicorns.

You still here?  Excellent!  Well then, I hereby nominate the following bloggers for BOTH of these awards.  They can take them, leave them or pick and choose.  So accommodating…..

Bit of Me Time

Baby Loves Porridge

Mutterings of a Fool

This Mid 30s Life

The Secret Life of an Unknown Housewife

One Response to “Do you meme ME?”

  1. Some great pieces of information about you … Theology and then drama school – what an interesting mix. That car crash sounded awful. You were so lucky with that one – were you badly hurt? Love the fact you have a certifcate in stage fighting – always useful to have! Ps horses are stunning.
