the monday club hello wall sarah milesWednesday Witter has been thwarted by my return to work on Tues/Weds, however, there was a small, but eloquent group of bloggers who were lovely enough to join up when they could, so I have moved the linky to Monday and decided to call it The Monday Club.

It may be a club, but it’s not exclusive.  All bloggers are welcome to link up their Monday blog, allowing a bit of plugging from me on Twitter and hopefully the opportunity to read and enjoy new blogs.  You can blog about anything and *whispers* the linky is open all week so if you can’t make a Monday then join in when you can!  I also hope those non-bloggers will feel free to add some comments either anonymously or as themselves.

So, no pretensions, no rules as such, just a chance for a bit of a get together and a chance say ‘hi’ each week.  Well, that’s my intention anyway.  All I ask is that you read some of the other blogs on the linky, try to leave a comment and stick my badge on your post or sidebar. The html code is on the Monday Club page here.

So, what about me?  Well, I seen to be snowed under with ‘things to do’ at the moment.  I can easily spend hours tinkering away on my blog, which is far too tempting once the laptop is open.  BUT I have three piles of marking to do, about 5 book reviews to write, endless filing, bills to sort out for my mum, bills to sort out for us plus I need to tend to my much neglected foodie blog.  It’s turned into that rogue vegetable rotting away at the bottom of the salad drawer.  A bit forgotten but unlike the vegetable does not need to be cast onto the compost heap but instead needs a bit of love and attention and a few decent posts to show it I love it still.

My daughter turns 8 soon and I have been pondering what to get her for a present that isn’t a Barbie.  She has given me an annotated Argos catalogue, but it is nearly all Barbie stuff which I refuse to buy her any more of.  Honestly, she has SO many and they are nearly all naked in the bath; wet and in various unladylike positions.  She loves art and taking photos, so I have decided to get her a digital camera of her own – nothing fancy, but something she can keep and use properly.  For the price of one barbie I can get a basic camera (but 5 stars on Amazon) which will see her out for the forseeable future.  Lord knows what I’ll get her for Christmas.  Any of them, for that matter.  They have so many toys between them and don’t seem to want for anything; even with the relentless adverts on Nick Jr.  But, this is a good thing and hopefully Christmas spirit will out and it will be more about family Connect 4 tournaments than piles of presents.

Wishing you all a good week ahead, I’m off for a quick cuppa then some paperwork….*groans*
