Well, this blog move is proving trickier than I thought…I am beginning to appreciate the once infuriating simplicity of Blogger.  Maybe WordPress is different when you’re not self-hosting, but I seem to be spending a lot of time on Google (ironically) trying to find out how to add photo, widgets, subscriptions etc.  Hopefully you will now be able to subscribe to my blog by email by clicking the clicky thing at the top of the right-hand sidebar.  This means every time I blog you get an email to say so.  This could well be the last thing you want cluttering up your inbox, but the option is there….

I have no idea how to work stats, so I have no clue as to how many of you are visiting.  This is quite annoying actually and I need to get it sorted, but all my WP stats seem to tell me is how many posts I have.  I know that already, I wrote them.  Stats are to bloggers what minicreme eggs are to Weight Watchers.  As for plug-ins…I thought a plug-in was something that made the lounge smell of vanilla.  So any seasoned WordPressers who would care to share a few tips would be right up there on my Pedestal of Adoration (along with Ben Fogle, Nigella Lawson and David Tennant).

It hasn’t helped that the new blog launch coincided with Easter and school holidays so I have had precious little time to sit and tinker.  Obviously I would prefer to be entertaining the kids and wiping up snot rather than sitting down with a cuppa and the laptop, obviously……

So, I shall continue to tweak and twitter and maybe soon it will all make sense.  Maybe.

Ta-da!

Well, I seem to have managed it…I am, still a little reticent, but my move from Blogger to WordPress self-hosting has finally completed and is hopefully running smoothly on PCs and Smartphones.

Now, I need to get used to a new blogging platform and get my blogroll and badges sorted out and then have a play with the site to get it looking how I want it.  After a week of watitng with not much to do it has, of course, completed smack bang on Easter weekend when I have visitors galroe and no chance of tinkering away…..never mind – I will save that geeky pleasure for next week.

My other (foodie) blog, What would Nigella Do?  is still on blogger so no change there.

Right, off to make blueberry tart and await the in-laws…..
