HUGE thanks to the lovely people at Britmums and Boots, I have a new camera!  It’s a ‘point and shoot’ but with extra whistles and bells and perfect for the novice photographer like me, who wants to take better shots but has very limited skill!

On Twitter last week, Britmums and Boots were in cahoots and ran a kids health forum.  By asking a question you were entered into a draw and I won £250 of Boots vouchers!  SO exciting as I never win anything (unlike my Nan who had the luck of the Irish and was the curse of many a tombola stall).  I even have vouchers left to make a significant hit on the Clarins counter and spoil the rest of the clan.  Hopefully the rest of my #SnapHappyBritMums page will be completed with fantastic shots…..hopefully *not convinced*.  I have really enjoyed #SHBM and will miss it when May ends.  Maybe I’ll have to investigate another photo project and find out what my new camera can do rather than have it on auto shoot!

Anyway, here’s my best shots so far.  I know, not very original but pretty all the same!

I am thrilled to bits to be a finalist in the Britmums Brilliance in Blogging Awards (BiBs) but it wasn’t in the ‘Fresh Voices’ category, so with reluctance I have deleted the BiBs badge from my Hello Wall.. sidebar and hung my head in gloom.  Then I cheered up because I have made the final 8 in the Tasty! category with my other blog and I got to copy and paste the ‘I’m a finalist’ badge on to that blog.

I was disappointed Hello Wall.. didn’t cut the mustard, but only because it’s my baby and I love it.  I pour so much time and energy into it, I have nurtured it and helped it grow over the last 9 months and when I (surprisingly) made the short-list I allowed that little seed of hope to sprout inside of me. What if…?  It couldn’t possibly…?  Maybe…?

Alas, maybe….NOT.

But, I must thank all of you who voted for Hello Wall… and I wholeheartedly appreciate your support and kind comments.  I will continue with my daily ramblings with just as much love and mild obsession because I blog for 3 reasons:

1. Sanity.

2. Love of writing.

3. Community.

Nine months ago I didn’t know what blogging was. Now, it is something I treasure.

I shall probably need to go out and buy a nice bottle of wine.  Maybe two.  One to drown my sorrows and one to celebrate!

You win some...

...you lose some.
